The BVB prepares for the approaching departure of Erling Haaland - and also Bayern probed the market for potential successors for Robert Lewandowski. The two German top clubs come to a common denominator: a Uruguayian center-tower talent.
Already the search for a Haaland heir at Borussia Dortmund is in full swing. A whereabouts of the Norwegian beyond summer is currently far less unlikely than a change.
Last summer, the black and yellow had already looked for a successor. And even then the BVB stumbled over Darwin Núnez and was interested in a commitment.
The Uruguayer has been playing at SL Benfica since 2020 and is making a close attention to it. In his first season, the center forces broke 26 door participations with cross-competition, in this season are already 16 results according to 17 league games to be booked.
Núnez meets in front of the eyes of BVB and FC Bayern Scouts
As the Portuguese Erlings direction "A Bola" reports, numerous scouts observed the latest Benfica game at CD Tondela - including employees of BVB and Bayern.
Unless already happened anyway, Núnez should have left a lasting impression at the latest on Monday. The 22-year-old met at the meantime 2: 0 (final 3: 1) by turning the ball from 16 meters into the angle. A few minutes later he failed with a directly stepped free kick on the post.
The big hook at a possible commitment: The eightfold Uruguayian national player has an exit claus of 150 million euros. Benfica would probably be ready for negotiations, but calls at least 50 million euros for his striker star, it says.
It remains questionable whether the BVB or FC Bayern could take such a stupid in the continued pandemically conditioned financial position. In addition to the German clubs, Manchester United and the AC Milan are also considered to be interested.
